Urban-Rural Connections

SAGE’s Urban-Rural Connections Program recognizes that urban communities and the rural areas at their edges must work together to create sustainable, resilient and equitable communities. SAGE seeks to integrate sustainable agriculture into regional planning and food systems while also fostering greater linkages between cities and nearby rural areas.

Collaborating with multiple partners, SAGE develops widely applicable tools based on replicable, place-based projects. SAGE’s work products – including illustrative maps, reports, assessments, plans, websites, events and initiatives – are influential in sustainable agriculture circles, frequently cited, replicated, enhanced and built upon.

SAGE analyzes our place-based project experience to extract and disseminate lessons learned.
