San Jose’s diverse food industry contributes $2.9 billion annually to the City’s economy while helping shape the City’s identity and vitality. Yet many food businesses face challenges: distributors and processors are squeezed for space and new businesses need more incubation opportunities. What additional policies and investments are needed to help food sector businesses start, stay and grow in San Jose and continue to make critical contributions? What more needs to be done to build a healthy food system that serves all San Jose communities?
